An Epilepsy Camp provides Hope to Rural Patients

Epilepsy – also known as convulsions or fits – is a challenging neurological disorder affecting people of all ages, often leading to sudden collapse, injuries and a diminished quality of life, if left untreated. Recognising the critical need for support and treatment, Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre organised an Epilepsy camp in Dharampur, with the support of Samman Association, Mumbai.

Many patients visited the camp and were provided comprehensive care by a team of esteemed neurologists from Mumbai. Free medications were provided for a period of four months to all patients, while over 60 paediatric patients received special attention. The camp also provided Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) tests at subsidised rates. It drew patients from Dharampur and Kaprada talukas, nearby Dang and Navsari districts, distant regions like Maharashtra’s border villages and even from cities like Mumbai and Surat. Patients left the camp satisfied, knowing they would receive continued support through regular follow-ups by the hospital team.

These initiatives not only offer medical assistance but also bring hope and dignity to those battling epilepsy.
